Alert or WHO´s target to 2015?
Nowadays Measles is the dangerous disease in young infants and pregnant women. WHO has put its target to 2015.It seems unlikely because a measles outbreak spreading across Europe, UK, Spain, Serbia, Macedonia & Turkey. During the last few months, children& young adults of UK & Wales have been most affected in the comparison of last year. Dr. Mary Ramsay, head of immunization at the HPA said that measles can spreads easily in schools and university. However, the situation in France is considerably worst. The most effective way of prevent this highly infectious viral illness is two doses of MMR vaccine. But all in all Americans are free from this dangerous disease because it was eliminated in 2002.In Europe measles can also be eliminated.
Opinion:
Before I got to face this article I thought that measles had already been banned. This infection disease causes damage to young children and pregnant women. I believed in the fact that this was a disease that you had to go through childhood. Reading that the Health Protection Agency reported a measles explosion in England and Wales means that we should be on alert. It also surprised me that in our western world this have not realized. What is Brussel doing? There must also be global action.
Your summary is not entirely clear; the target of the WHO is to have eliminated measles by 2015 in the whole world or just Europe? I know that the Netherlands vaccinate children at the age of 14 months and nine years. This program started in 1970 so everyone born before this year has probably acquired the antibodies the natural way.
